Ripen · keep · enjoy
- As it leaves us
- Full size and firm, the skin turning from green to yellow-green. The skin goes light yellow, the fruit gives a little and the smell fills the room. Plenty of people like guava crisp and green, sliced with salt and chilli; that is right too.
- At home
- On the counter until it softens and smells ripe, then in the fridge for up to five days.

Florida guava bears all year, most heavily from August to October, with a smaller crop in late winter.
